For some time now, I noticed the dust in my home has taken
on a life of its own. It was to my great surprise at my last furnace
maintenance visit, the senior technician alerted me that millions of 3M
filters had the air flow arrow pointed in the wrong direction! I don't know if
other brands have the same issue.
It's important to be sure the furnace filter is in properly. If it isn't, the furnace work harder increasing energy costs.
The right way is for the wire side to point towards the blower motor (see photo, all rights reserved).
Now that my filter is in the right way, surfaces are less dusty. We'll see if my gas bill goes down in the coming months.
